Terms of use for the mPiggy mobile application, including subscription, billing, and auto-renewal terms.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the mPiggy app (the “Application”) for mobile devices, created by Bartosz Łaniewski (the “Service Provider”). By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Application.
The Service
mPiggy is a personal finance and budgeting application. The core budgeting features are free to use and work offline on your device. The Application also offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock additional features (see “Subscriptions” below). You do not need an account to use the free features.
Intellectual Property
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or our trademarks is strictly prohibited. Any attempts to extract the source code of the Application, translate the Application into other languages, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
Subscriptions
mPiggy offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions, currently including:
- AI subscription — unlocks AI-powered receipt scanning
Each subscription is available on a monthly or yearly basis. Additional subscriptions may be offered in the future. Certain features may be limited, offered via a waitlist, or unavailable in some regions.
Billing and auto-renewal
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- The price and billing period are shown in the Application and on the store before you confirm your purchase. Prices may vary by country and are subject to change; any change will apply only to future billing periods.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the Application does not cancel your subscription.
- If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, and the subscription will renew at the standard price after the trial or introductory period unless canceled beforehand.
Payments and refunds
Payments, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms and policies. The Service Provider does not process your payment details and generally cannot issue refunds directly; refund requests must be made through the App Store or Google Play. Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable.
Acceptable Use and Financial Disclaimer
mPiggy is a tool to help you record and understand your finances. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for any decisions you make. Where the Application retrieves data from third parties (such as currency exchange rates), the Service Provider relies on those third parties and does not guarantee that such data is complete, accurate, or up to date.
Your Device and Connectivity
It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your device and your access to the Application. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your device, which removes software restrictions imposed by the official operating system and could expose your device to malware, compromise its security features, and cause the Application to malfunction.
Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). The Service Provider is not responsible if the Application does not function fully due to lack of connectivity. If you use the Application outside of a Wi-Fi area, your mobile provider’s agreement still applies, and you may incur data or roaming charges, for which you are responsible. It is also your responsibility to ensure your device remains charged.
Availability, Updates, and Termination
The Service Provider may update the Application, and operating-system requirements may change; you may need to install updates to continue using it. The Service Provider does not guarantee that it will always update the Application or keep it compatible with your device’s operating-system version. The Service Provider may also cease providing the Application and terminate its use at any time without notice. Upon termination, (a) the rights and licenses granted to you in these Terms will end; and (b) you must cease using the Application and, if necessary, delete it from your device.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying entirely on the functionality of the Application, including data provided by third parties. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. You are advised to review this page regularly. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
